immigrant: skilled or not
-
you are either "skilled" or "not" as per the point system. Canada has a goal of accepting up to 1% of its population per year, but that goal has never been reached in the last few years.
In average, Canada has accepted about 250,000 immigrants every year in the last 5-10 years, among which skilled immigrants and family reunificaiton are the largest categories.
Generally speaking; if you have a university degree, speak well either French or English, and have some experience in your profession, you will pass the cut off, which quite frankly is kind of a definition of skilled immigrant!
