German citizenship
-
I am Dr.M .Zaher Eimich born in Germany (Köln stadt) in 13/5/1981. I lived in Germany with my parents for 7 years ,because my father was making specialization in medicine(Urology) in Germany, but my parents leave Germany and I was forced –of course- to leave because I was 6 years old.
Now I am an Orthodontist (Kieferorthopädie) work in Syria and have the Syrian nationality. I started learning the German language since 2 months and still yet.
I hope that you can tell me if I can get the German citizenship or the German passport according to my situation mentioned previously, specially if you know that I was obligated to leave Germany when I was small by my parents and that in the present time I try to come to Germany to complete high-degree studies in Orthodontics.
Note: All documents for residence and certificate of born are present.
Thank you ,and hoping soonly recieve your kind replay.

German citizenship
Unfortunately, your situation will not help you in obtaining the German citizenship. The German citizenship is given out on criteria of your ancestors (i.e., your parents or grandparents have to be German), not according to the place of birth. Your stay in Germany therefore doesn't entitle you in any way to the German citizenship.
If you want to study in Germany, you therefore have to apply for a normal student visas. The regulations on these are currently changing, you will find updated news on the new laws soon on our site.Anonymous 29 déc 2004, 10:59 - Signaler un abus
