visa delay

• Assalaam u alaikum,
  
  My name is Muhammad Ahmed. I am from Pakistan. I got a job as Finance Manager in one of the Telecom (mobile) Operator of Kuwait. I accepted the written job offer on 24th May-2009 based on which my sponsor (employer) applied for a work visa.
  
  Unfortunately there has been a long delay in getting the work visa processed since, as I have been told, the NOC from Interior ministry hasnt been granted yet. I have been told that this delay is due to my name (Muhammad Ahmed). The ministry has some files of persons with same name having criminal record so they are doing some extra verifications.
  
  I would like to know that how do you see the whole situation? How much more time should I expect before the visa will be granted? I ofcourse dont have any criminal background and enjoyed a respectable moral status, is there any thing I can do from here to expediate the process? What is a probability of visa actually being refused? (since it is the biggest concern for me. I have already resigned from my previous well settled job).
