Air
There is no international airport in Andorra, though there are three heliports. These are located in Arinsal, La Massana, and Escaldes-Engordany. All offer commercial travel.
The nearest international airports are Toulouse in France and Barcelona in Spain. Andorra can easily be reached by car or coach from these places.
From November 2013, there will be more flights to and from Seu d’Urgell airport, which is a fifteen minute drive from the Andorran border.
Road
The only way to reach Andorra directly is by road. There is one major highway entering the country from France and one well-used road from Spain.
The journey should take around three hours by car and four hours by coach from Barcelona. Girona airport may look closer to Andorra on a map, but the roads aren’t as good as the ones from Barcelona, so it will take longer. Coaches leave regularly from Barcelona, Madrid, Malaga, Valencia and Lleida, and take around 4 hours.
Driving from the French side of Andorra takes you through the 2.9 km-long Tunel d'Envalira. Be prepared to pay a toll to use this tunnel. Buses also leave daily from Toulouse bus station and from the airport.
If you are driving to Andorra, fill up your tank once you arrive, as petrol prices are as much as 30% cheaper than in France and 20% less than Spain.
Train
There are no train lines in Andorra and none close to the border with Spain. L'Hospitalet is 3km from the Andorran border in France. From there you can take a bus into Andorra. Bear in mind the station is in an isolated area and is often unmanned. Plan your connections carefully if travelling through here to avoid a long wait.
