Jobs in Andorra

There are a range of jobs available for expats in Andorra, especially for those who speak Catalan, Spanish or French in addition to English.

Seasonal work - ski resorts

This is a good option for expatriates who are unsure about committing to a long term move. Andorra’s five celebrated ski resorts offer many jobs for the ski season (typically from mid-December through to April). Positions range from retail, and hospitality to ski instructor roles. Soldeu-El Tartar Resort is Andorra’s largest, and employs many English-speaking staff each season.

English teaching

For native English speakers, there are a number of language schools in Andorra which hire throughout the year. Positions are, however, limited due to the lack of schools and the size of the country. Language schools often teach French and German in addition to English. Prospective teachers will need a TEFL qualification - a degree in language or education would also be a strong asset.

Hospitality - tourism industry

Outside the ski resorts, Andorra has a year-round tourism industry. Hotels, bars and restaurants all employ staff throughout the year. Expats looking for work in hospitality will likely need at least one other language in addition to English. Spanish and French are the most sought after employees for tourism related work.

How to find work in Andorra

If you’re moving to Andorra without a job lined up, you can start your search online as well as making use of classifieds ads in newspapers and magazines.

Finding a seasonal job

If you are seeking work in a ski resort, don’t expect to find a job before the season starts. Most resorts are ghost towns during the off-season. Arriving in mid-November and asking in restaurants and bars directly is the best way to find a seasonal job.

For ski instructors, ski schools will have a list of vacancies. Networking with other instructors may lead to private instruction opportunities and available work at peak times. In Pas, English is widely spoken, and English speakers tend to gather in the town of Arinsal. These places are your best bet for finding a job, especially if you only speak English.

Search online

There are a number of job boards for Andorra online. The following are some examples:

Newspapers

Once in Andorra, you can search for jobs the traditional way - in newspaper classifieds. Expats need to bear in mind that newspapers in Andorra are published in Catalan. You might be able to decode the ads without a working knowledge of the language, but it will obviously help to speak at least a little Catalan.
